Recouperation
  • Complete Masters degree - check (4.0....yay!)
  • Complete presentation for Midwest Scholar's Conference - check
  • Host and serve as taxi cab for a lot of people this week - check
  • Go get killed in a tournament - pending
  • Go collapse in a nice resort room's spa for three days - definitely pending

Anything could happen in March and it would be heaven compared to February.

Stargate
I'm not sure if I should take the "suggestions" of running a Stargate game seriously, but I'm starting to consider it. I'm not sure if people prefer shorties or a longer stint, but as I read more the RPG book more thoroughly, I think it would be fun...after all, Stargate is one of my favourite sci-fi shows. My only probable qualification for storey writing would be that I've watched so much of it :) If people are interested, then let me know. I would probably put something together in April...once my school is completely over (TWO FREAKIN' WEEKS AWAY!), tourney is over, AU stint is over, etc.

Update
There is now a thread in the gaming forum for Stargate and some interest posted in it. I defer to the RPG Board for more info ;)
Tolkien Day
Yesterday was Tolkien Day...a day set aside to commemorate one of England's finest authors by watching the extended versions of the FOTR, TT, and ROTK. You have to get an early start to get through everything in one day, but it's well worth the attribution of awesomeness.

...on the bright side...
I did get an offer to teach English Literature and World History for a small bunch of High Schoolers and Middler Schoolers. It's essentially a homeschool co-op that wants instructors for the courses with which parents might not feel perfectly comfortable teaching. I'm thrilled, because I LOVE both subjects. Additionally, homeschoolers typically test above average for knowledge skills, so I'm betting on good attention skills. There's a slight stressor of getting the goals and objectives complete by the 14th for all four classes, but I'm still excited, especially as I'm completing the goals and objectives. This is going to be a perfect activity to occupy me during next Fall since my Masters is done. (I still plan to pursue teaching college, but I plan to only teach one or two classes of distance education college at a time.)
w..a..t..e..r
February was under control until I was somehow roped into a Tae Kwon Do tourney that I thought was successfully going to miss. Now I have to train...fast. So far that has led to sore muscles and very bruised shins. 250 kicks a day, a morning run, Saturday sessions of sparring for 30-40 minutes straight (then teaching my own school), and some changes to my diet to ensure my weight class. Please, somebody, shoot me. It's not murder, it's mercy killing. I'm 26 and way too freakin' old for this. I have experience on my side, but tired muscles as well. All I seem to crave is water and a bath!
