*fzzt*
Either luck is completely on my side or the realms of evil are against me. I think it's both. I left my Dolce and Gabbana sunglasses in their case on my car top, then I drove off, only to watch the case get tossed off the roof and be crushed by tires. Lady Luck (or God) made the sunglasses pop out of the case and land in the grass just before the case met it's destruction. Next evil event was leaving my Fendi purse at Steak and Shake. Let's note that the Fendi is my favourite purse that Eric bought me on honeymoon in Rome, so I was beyond frantic and nearly kissed the waiter that returned it to me the next day. Then this morning I opened my door to a flower delivery man. While this is very exciting for any girl, it's devestating when he asks if I could hold them for a neighbor. What about ME? While I would love to mope how things aren't going my way, I just found out I don't have to teach tomorrow, so maybe the week will improve. *fzzt*

The Force
There is an unknown force at Fry's that makes you want to buy everything. While my wish list was lengthened extensively, I couldn't resist grabbing the Firefly DVD set. As my fingers reached for the Firefly set, bright neon lights suddenly started dancing around Stargate Atlantis' first season. It was becoming clearer by the second that Fry's is simply a black hole for money. Meanwhile, I hope to finish Stargate Atlantis before I leave Wednesday night :)

Payback!
Remember my destroyed Halloween weekend because of the tournament and awful dentistry work? Remember the trip to Chicago with teenagers? Finally....a weekend of focus on Marian has arrived!! TSO tonight, opera tomorrow night, a special dinner Saturday night, and a visit to Inland Aquatics Sunday. See, it does pay to do good things...eventually good things will be returned.

While there is some fear of Thanksgiving because I naturally reject Thanksgiving as a wretched time tortured by dry turkey and annoying people that claim to have some level of relation to me, it also will be gratified post-torture with a trip to Niagara Falls and a winery tour of 10 different wineries in Ontario.

Survival
Ya know...for being a field trip, and for the field trip to be for teenagers, Chicago went amazingly well. I am fortunate that these particular teenagers are more mature than the average kid that age, so after the "tour" of what they had to see, I was able to let them roam the museum on their own and have them meet us when we planned to leave. The great part is that it worked, thus being able to spend time in areas I wanted to see. I even got to sneak across the street for some shopping at the art gallery. I still wish I drove separately so I could have spent more time in Chicago though...

*scream*
If a DVD has to screw up or be scratched or WHATEVER the problem was, why does it have to wait until the last track? STUPID DVD! Now I'll have to buy my own series of Firefly to see this episode!

EDIT *grrr* Another episode that's flickering and missing scene's. *sniffles*

Losing My Touch
I had to put down my KODT comic to talk on my mobile while driving to and from work today. What happened to the old days where I put on make-up, talked on the mobile, and read the newspaper while driving? Oddly enough, my accident rates have plummeted in the last few years. I wonder if there's a connection.

I am losing my touch even farther in the sense that somehow I'm ending up in a van with 10 people (mostly students) to take on a field trip to Chicago Saturday. I did something wrong, and I'm pretty sure that it's because I'm the idiot who organised it. Between having to take 14 kids to a tournament 2 weeks ago and having to take 10 people to Chicago this weekend, I'm going to need a full week at least in my happy little sci-fi DVD shell.

Ellen's Back!
Her long absence made me wonder if she'd ever return to Blogland. It pays off to check on dead blogs occasionally...they may just be in a coma instead :)
Improvement
It wouldn't take much to improve this week over last, but it's still important to note that it's already better. My mouth feels more normal, my cold is better, my headaches are calming down (a little), and I had a good weekend. Saturday we went and saw the musical Ragtime, which was pretty good in spite of being sad. It's like Gangs of New York; terribly sad, but pretty realistic. I would have to concur with a Ragtime review I found. Sunday was six-seven hours of role-playing between Vormeili and Ivy. I really enjoy both these characters, but I'll be glad to go back to Thursdays for Ivy after November. My brain was fuzzy afterwards.

VERY Bad Week...looking forward to better days!
Ever feel like somebody's driving a nail through your teeth up to your brain? That's exactly the way I feel. This last visit to the dentist Monday was disasterous for any productivity this week. Fortunately I am caught up on tooth work, and only have to recover at this point. Never do two streneous dentist appointments on the same weekend! Oh, and I'm getting a cold. Since I do try and find the bright side, I must say the break from teaching history and literature last week did all of us good as the classes today went very well (except for overall physical pain of which I did end up flagging and am now home grumpy and resting). We have some fun projects and field trips that both teacher (me) AND students are looking forward to. Also, we had a really positive tournament Saturday with 14 people representing Dan Shi, which made me proud. As smoothly as it went, I still completely collapsed emotionally afterwards, and recovered just in time to have my dentist appointment Monday. I must now turn my focus to the complete watching of Firefly :)
