Dice!
As I'm running around like mad trying to get everything buttoned up for our trip tomorrow, the postman made me smile with a small package from Crystal Caste. I now own rose quartz dwarven stone dice for my new Barbarian Half Orc. Why rose quartz for a beastly half orc you ask? Because a major goal in her life to achieve femininity, but with her low charisma, this seems to be an impossible goal; however, she loves pink...thus the need for rose quartz dwarven stones.

I'd like to get more of those dwarven stone sets, actually. Vormeili has an amethyst dwarven stone set, and I'm just waiting for her doom so I can roll up the sea witch in order to rationalise obtaining the azure dwarven stone set :)

Yes, I'm prepared for all the mocking...but let's at least appreciate my excitement during this stressful day...

Stress Reducing Week
My nerves are completely raw with the past few days. I was attempting to be the perfect hostess for Eric's parents, getting ready for KTTS, extra TKD stress for next Saturday's promotion test, and living in an upside down home since it was being repainted. Now all of that is GOOD, but all at once in the same three days is BAD. The good news is that our house is freshly painted and beautiful! Eric's dad was so nice and did it for us (he's a professional painter). There were some minor stresses also, but those were definitely the biggie's. I typically just flow through everything, then fall apart afterwards, which describes my current my state of crash and burn. I'm very much looking forward to Pheonix, even if it IS going be really hot :) I'll be either in my air-conditioned resort or air-conditioned rental car...so it's all right. Plans for Pheonix include the Grand Canyon, planning Stargate's nemesis, and getting ready for my first few lectures at school in August. I bet I'll get more done with school and Stargate since I don't have the normal day-to-day distractions, especially since I enjoy both activities.

2005/2006 Season
We are now season ticket holders for the Indianapolis Opera and the Broadway series! There's a lot of excitement in that for me...I know the opera is either a love/hate relationship with most people, but just about everybody has to appreciate Broadway :)

Ups and Downs
It's been a tough week, but last week was lots of fun, so it all balances out.

downs...
I found out that it's too late to register for my graduation, and since of course UoP didn't bother sending me any info on the precess, I can't walk the aisle...BUT we had already reserved the resort and plane tickets, so we're going anyway just to enjoy the southwest and see the Grand Canyon :) Also, my first character death since my entrance to the world of RPG's occurred last night, which depressed me mightily.

ups...
I had an awesome July 4 weekend in Chicago :) Taste of Chicago was truly awesome with tastes from each different restaurant represented available for only $1.50 each. You really can't beat that, so I got to try lots of new food. The fireworks on the Lake was of course beautiful, and I highly recommend B.L.U.E.'s on Halstead. I kept thinking how Matt would love that club. Lastly, I went to visit family in Michigan that I haven't seen in many years, and came away happy, with my frozen cherries from Traverse City's Cherry Festival, venison, trout and salmon from my families crazy hunting and fishing lives. I could never live in the country, but it's very handy to have family that does.

Don't forget that party this Saturday! Bring something you want grilled...we have a bunch of spices too that you can use.
