Geeks
I was hugely excited today to go to Game Preserve and buy the Arcana Unearthed book, as well as my own dice. I noticed that the packs only had one of each though, and mumbled out loud that I would prefer two d6 dice, and wondered if I would ever need more than one now that the game was underway. An immediate eruption of geek argument ensued around me. People were previous just milling around the store were now gathering to give their 2 cents. To make matters worse, I received no help, as all the opinions seemed to vary, then the argument was diminished to "I'm more of a geek than you." I SWEAR that is a quote. It was insane. My goal at the point was to just slip through the masses to try and find a spryte sized figurine.

No spryte figurine was to be found. The smallest was a Loresong Faen, but Fiddy has that, so buying one would be rather pointless. I'm going to ask mum to carve me a couple (one casting spells and one with a mind sword) instead. She used to be an excellent carver, specialising in minatures, so I'm sure she could dig the 'ol tools out again. I'm going to have her put each one on a different stick height to symbolise how high I am, and also make one without a platform or stick so I can put her on Ro-Terrus' (the giant) shoulder. I realise that doing that is pretty geeky in itself, but I pray I will never sink down to the level of prouding stating in the middle of a busy store, "I'm more of a geek than you." *shiver*
